Erwin Tan asked that we post the below information regarding this training session at the UIC Pool.
———————–
Hi guys, i hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and your time off from the pool. Anyways, i have requested pool time at UICs big pool (901 w. roosevelt rd. chicago, illinois) for Saturday, December 15 from 12-2pm. Let me know if you can come so i can have a roster set up so i know how many lifeguards or assistants i’m going to have to bring with me, but walk ins are good to.
UIC Big pool -
Here are 3 reasons why you should come, (1) this will be a good start to your TRI season because this gives me and you a chance to asses your stroke and (2)to network with other tri-athletes who might be your next training partner or competitor. (3) Also, this will be a great opportunity for you guys to swim in a deep 50 meter pool (maybe practice treading water). We have 2 hours of use of the facility so i figured this will be some of the thing we’ll do:
- swim workout (2000-3000 meters)
- stroke evaluation
- shoulder injury prevention
Maybe some of you would just opt to do a workout and i would gladly provide you with one. so grab a group of friends who would want to do a workout and jump in and get your season started. For others, specially those new to triathlons/swimming i will try to get all three in.
Bring your equipment such as your suit, goggles, cap, wetsuit (if you want to wear one), buoy and paddles (if you have any), fins zoomers. no need for kickboards… here is a swim store link if you guys need gear, they have great deals in suits and swim/tri equipment…

To better know you and your goals for the 2008 season, i’ve attached a profile sheet for you guys to fill out and a waiver to be also filled out in advance. please bring these document with you. (Editor’s note, if you are interested in attending, please email Erwin at ew8@hotmail.com in order to attain these documents prior to attendance).
The cost will be $20.00 per person (preferably cash) but checks are good to, payable to me your host/coach, “Erwin Tan”. For parking, there are parking meters on roosevelt road and a pay lot across the facility.
p.s. - Everybody is welcome to participate, but I will not be baby sitting anybody who can’t make it to the other end of the pool so please make sure if you are inviting someone they know how to swim. please forward this invite to anybody else that you think will be benefit from this work shop.
